Hey guys. I have a Kel-Tec P32 which receives a steady diet of Ranch Dog 75 grain slugs. The boolits are sized to .313 and the rounds have an OAL of .940. The gun shoots them fine, however the throat is a bit tight for them, the cartridge will not just drop in. It will go in with a bit of a push, the difficulty increases as the gun gets dirty from shooting. Is there an easy way to polish the throat a little bit with common household tools? This is my carry gun and I want to do anything I can to improve reliability.

Why not size to .312?

Is the case pinching in the chamber or is the boolit too large for the leads/freebore? What is the groove diameter (is the boolit the right size?)? Leade/freebore can be polished with 600 grit on a dowel. You must be careful that the right area makes contact. You don't want to polish the rifling nor the chamber. Before you do anything, that tightness may be very good for accuracy, and maybe a lube and/or powder change to something that leaves less carp in the bore?

If the sizing smaller is not the answer I'd spin some wet/dry paper on a dowel with a hand drill till I got what I wanted in the throat. It's not a target pistol, has no sights to speak of so what would be lost if you added an inch to your 7 yd group size?? The main thing with these guns is reliability in my estimation.

The grooves slug at .312. Would sizing to .312 cause any problems? The case is not getting pinched, I've checked with loaded rounds seated really short.

I'll put a .312 sizer on my next order of Lee stuff.
