I was given a couple of boxes of brass that I was told were .300 Win Mag. When I looked at them closer I knew right away they were too long. The head stamps are either ".300 Magnum" or ".300 H&H Magnum"; obviously a wildcat round made by fireforming in a bigger chamber.
The old boxes they came in, Winchester Silvertip Superspeed .300 H&H Magnum, had reloader labels on them with a date of 1955, way before my time. I just thought it was interesting, looks bigger than the Weatherby round. I just threw it all in with a bag of .300 Weatherby brass I have. I would expect it could be easily reformed into .300 Weatherby, but I doubt it's desirable brass to reload because it's mixed headstamp that has likely been reloaded an unknown number of times.
