made it out to ft hood today for a shoot with the encore 375 win barrel.I have had it now for a while but didn't get around to shooting it.
anyways..

with the lyman 264 gr gc it did pretty good for the first time out.I sized .377 using magma lube then a light coat of lee tl on top of that.no leading in the bore and accuracy was pretty good.
5 rd group.data on target.3 rd's under the dime.

Txpete, at what distance did you fire that target? Looks like you have potentially found a decent load. I have a 375 Win barrel for my Encore, I have not got to shoot it much yet,but it does seem to like my favorite 38/55 load-- around 8.2 grains of either 700x or Red dot, pushing a Lee plain base 250 grain bullet for around 1250 fps. This is a great load, it is quieter than my .22 rifle, is very accurate--one hole groups at 25 yards--and is VERY clean to boot. I tried some RE 7 under that Lyman GC bullet you have, for a higher velocity load, but my results were disappointing. I'll see if I can come up with some 4198, that looks more promising.

I only got to shoot at 50 meters today as the G.I.'s were doing qual fire at the range.on wed's I mostly have the range to myself but not today.
my fav load
220 jsp
36.0 grs RL-7
win brass
win lr primer
this load cut a ragged hole

this is the first time I shot cast in the 375 win barrel.seemed .377 worked pretty good.it is also what I use in my win 94 BB 375.
might have to try your red dot loads.thanks

I just got an Encore in 375 JDJ. Loads are almost exactly 375 WIN. I decided to go with an Encore because of the barrel selection.

I just returned from a trip to Alaska. While in Anchorage I found a 24" 243 barrel for 199.00 NOB.

It is time to start reloading for the new barrels.
