I have shot 19 grains, Rem 2 1/2 primer, Starline brass and 310 Keith bullet in my 45's. Runs about a 1000 fps and is an accurate load. Cant help with the 44 as I dont shoot it much at all.

Try 14.3 grains of 4759 under a 245 gr 44 boolit. It'll be an 800fps round out of a 5in barrel ,or thereabouts. Not a fire-belching load but fun to shoot . If you have a Lyman cast bullet handbook the loads for the 44 mag do not include 4759 but several are listed for its little brother the 44 S&W.That's were I got this load and used it for my 44mag and it shoots fine.
