If I cast a .452 diameter Boolit for my 45ACP what diameter do I size it to?? Lee has a .451 and a .452?

I'm putting together the list for my casting supplies.

Thanks!

I suggest you slug the barrel and size .001" larger.

Get a .452 sizer and don't look back. For most 1911 pistol in 45 ACP .451 will do fine, but some makes have barrels that run a tad larger, so .452 is the ticket and will do well in any 45 ACP barrel.

I have loaded well over 1/4 million rounds of cast bullets 45 ACP loads and they have all been .452 and have been fired in a dozen or more different pistols. We have been handloading for the 45 ACP round for 100 years now and there are no secrets anymore.

The 1911 pistol and cast bullets are a match made in heaven. It is very easy to get good reliability, function and accuracy. Just make certain you have a good bullet design. Some of them don't work that well. A good start would be a Hensley and Gibbs 68 or any of the clones.
