I plan on casting/reloading for a 30-06 handy rifle. I would like to use a Lee mold and tumble lube if possible (i don't own a sizer). Which bullet/mold works for White tail and lets say 150 yds. 150gr,160 gr,170 gr,200 gr. I only have cast for straight wall pistol so far, just getting started in rifle. I don't have a clue about casting or reloading for rifles. I'm not concerned about a nuclear load, i'm more concerned about accuracy.

My experience has been heavy for caliber seems to be the most accurate.

Any of the Lee 30 caliber molds 170 gr up should work. Get Lee push-through sizers in .309" and .311". Find which dia your barrel likes. TL works just fine on regular-groove bullets. Just apply two coats--one just before sizing and another one after sizing. The Lee size dies also seat gas checks just fine.

Agree with Jr. However I have also had good luck with accuracy with the Lee flat nosed gas check 150 grainer in all of my 30 cals. Not much to look at as cast blts. go particularly if you lube with lee mule snot, but with wide meplat, bet it would serve you well.

Lee C309-170-F is my recomendation for your requirements along with the Lee .311 sizer kit (to put GCs on and lube the bullet). The Lee universal expander die or a .30 cal Lyman M die will also be nice to have.

"I don't have a clue about casting or reloading for rifles."

I suggest getting and reading either or both the Lyman Cast bullet manual or Lee's manual. They will answer most of your beginner questions much faster than here and will provide a constant referance. Most of the items you need can be ordered from Midway.
