Supposed to be ok. Try some of the 1911 sites for other opinions maybe?

It is my understanding that they are made in the Philipines, they are "inexspensive".I had thought of purchasing one a while back because of the price. But on looking at them, changed my mind.I figgered it better to not have one( a 1911) ,than to have a bad one. I picked up 2 pistols, one in each hand (NIB),the differance between the 2 was to say the least...a lot.they both rattled, one more than the other.it's just a cheap gun a that is all their is to it.I did not think I would be happy with it,so I did not buy one.No quality control,it would seem, but maybe someone else has a better opinion of these pistols,I'm not impressed, sorry.

I've had 3 in and they all worked fine and shot at least as good as a surplus army gun. The only difference I can find between them and the more expensive guns are that the frames don't seem to be as hard. I would guess that by 8000 rounds or so they will be getting pretty loose, but 8000 is a lot of shooting.

RAI 1911 pistols are great! they are made to g.i. specs and parts will interchange with colt. both of mine function well and are very accurate. in fact it aint hard to out shoot a kimber with it. also the customer service is second to none!-phil

I bought one because it was cheap and I didn't have a 1911. After 2500+ rounds, I'm impressed. It feeds anything, has reasonable accuracy, and is just fun to shoot. Last week I showed to one one the race gun guys at my club and He was impressed with the quality for the money.
I don't know if the frame is soft, but I have had no peening or cracking so far. STI now uses this gun as a base for their new Spartan custom gun, so it can't be that badly made.

Here's my Armscor (Same as RIA) copy of the Officer's Model .45 ACP. What's not to like?

the ones ive shot have been decent guns. Not the tightest or the most accurate 1911s ive handled but they went bang when the trigger was pulled and for the ammount they cost that alone is about amazing.
