I have slugged the bore and my rifle is 449 land 457 groove bore. What size should my bullets be? I was thinking 459
It is a Pedersoli John Bodine
That would be a reasonable size to start out with.

i like to see what diameter my mold pours to.
if i get 458 a 459 sizer won't be much help seating gas checks.

Aye 0.459" would be a good starting point.
Have you taken a throat slug as well.
I don't suppose you will be using a gas checked boolit in the Pedersoli so not an issue for you.

I did a throat slug. Not sure it was good and will do it again. I was 453.
I guess I also have to maybe make a chamber cast. I have seen conflicting posts about freebore in these rifles

My general rule of thumb regardless of cal, is as large as possible for cal as long as it will chamber, and shoot accruately. Yep, .459 is a good starting place.
