I was just speaking with Lee's service department and was told they had a new primer feed update as of about the 1st of July. They are sending them to me free of charge. I was told the earlier update this year was causing more problems than it was worth. When I get them I will be posting some pics.

I just called, and they are sending me a new one as well, but unfortunately, they confirmed I already have the newest small primer assembly. The last time I tried it, out of 100, I had 22 cases that didn't prime and 17 that primed sideways. Hopefully I just got a bad one, LOL.

I still use the original primer feed without problems. Wish they had never started trying to fix user mistakes by making a rebounding slider. With the original version if the user moved it by hand or when changing shellplates and didn't pull it back it would crush the slider and then said user wondered why his press wouldn't prime. I prefer to just follow the instructions and continue using the original. Will be interested in your findings with the new unit though.

A fellow over on LoadmasterVideos has a fix for the LM primer problem(s). Kinda makes me wish I had my LM's back to try his fix.

The Gen III primer feeders are great. I've switched both sizes.

I had issues with the previous large priming system, I sent Lee an e-mail and they are sending me the latest version. Hopefully this will help. I have had 2 primers blow with the last revision, new meaning to the words gun shy.

I just bought a Lee LoadMaster set up for 9mm. How do I tell what priming system in on the press? I ordered the press on June 29, 2012.

They have an "A" with a circle around it stamped in the bottom of the plastic primer assembly.
