Anyone have a 500 S&W plinking load they like using 700X. I’m casting the Lyman 375gr and the Lee 440gr. I happen to have about 12 lbs of the stuff.
Thanks

While I am sure it may be possible, I would think that that little powder in that much case capacity is a recipe for disaster. Of course I have never tried it, but it would seem that way to me. I will watch and learn with you!

+1 here. I worked up some unique loads for the 440 Lee and I was nervous to say the least, when I saw that a double charge was still WAY under the case mouth making it hard to see.

Trail boss maybe. What kind of reduced loads do you have in mind? Mouse farts or nice light loads that would take a Buffalo's head off? (and break your wrist)

Although I use it in the wife's 38, and I have used it in .45 acp, I would think that you are looking at sky high pressure levels in the 500 with 700x. YMMV.

Tread carefully.

If you're going to load "plinking" loads try a case full of Trail Boss or BLC-2. Very mild, the SBH in 44mag has more kick., try the 700X but watch your pressure signs
