Greetings
Was out at our local range yesterday morning till near noon... that last hour was no fun... But did shoot a 50-95 and a Hall flinter.
Danville ILL is toasted and burnt to that crispy look.

We finally have our monsoon, so we are getting some rain - all the way up to nearly 5 inches - SO FAR THIS YEAR! At least it has cooled down so that we hover around 100 for a high, instead of the 109's.

It was 95 here yesterday with 96 on tap for today & 99 for tomorrow. With the humidity it's hurting as bad as the 100+ days we had back in June & early July. I honestly hate this time of year.

It's been pretty mild out here.....108F/85F.
Unlike when I was in my 50's, I lack the mojo to go out to the range this time of year,

96 right now in my neighborhood, with 1 billion% humidity. We are 6+ inches under for rain right now. A lot of farmers are struggling now, both livestock ad crops are taking a beating. My Pop's pasture is pretty much destroyed.

We got about two tenths of an inch of rain this morning. About all it will do is settle the dust for part of the day and raise the humidity.

Nothing ran off, and very few rain puddles left now.

Down here in S.E. TX, we can sympathize with you. Last year '11 was one of our driest. Everything burnt. One big ranch has 20-30 big pole barns (50 X 100) they fill with hay rolls for the winter when they truck in herds from Kansas. They usually get 4 to 5 cuts of hay. They bought hay. This summer has been pretty wet, though. Hopefully you will get some relief. I see reports of Indiana and Wisconsin where they are suffering, too. Farmers struggling to keep it going.

Yep, dire straits around here. processor 3-4 weeks out to do my hog. onslaught of guys dumping there livestock, theoreticlly shuld drive prices down due to flooding the market but we all know that aint gonna happen. B.T.O. had it right, we aint seen nuthin yet, hold on tight gonna be a long bumpy ride.

gotta break from the heat this afternoon. front came through and the temp dropped 15 degrees in 10-15 minutes (98 down to 83). received a greatly needed shower; but its probably too little too late.
