I ended up with a few extra two cavity cast iron molds in 38 cal, and am debating having a few of them re-cut into 45 and 475 caliber. I figure since the majority of machining opperations are in making the mold blocks and sprue plate, that having the cavities recut for say $40-50 would be reasonable. Trouble is, I don't know of anyone who offers this service. I contacted the maker of the blocks and he said it's not an option.

But I figure with the wealth of custom mold makers and tweakers out there, somebody might offer this option.

I would be inclined to sell them and buy Lee moulds. You should at least break even.

Try hollowpointmolds.com. He does rework molds and may be able to give you what you need. Frank

Ballisticast does at least some mold re-cutting, though it may only be offered for machine casting molds. Might be worth checking.

I guess it must have been one of the things that changed when the ownership did. Sorry for the false info there.

I'm interested to know as well. I've got a .223 4cav brass mold block that was cut out of spec by Miha. He sent out new blocks cut proper and didn't request the old ones back. It'd be great to have it recut for something else so it can be used.
