I picked up a Lyman 12ga slug mold this weekend,
now before yall start in about some redneck mold handle
I do have a set coming, just wanted to see what I could do.
I have not used a mold like this before, I did ask a few questions of the owner that sold it to me.(not of this site, I looked for one)
Man did he give me some good tips.

The Lee slugs are there for comparison.

Boy did you give me some great ideas.

I have several molds I would like to try out but don't have handles and don't want to buy handles to cast 50 bullets.

If you have a cheap pair of vice grips with the pads, knock out the pins,
file or grind a bit off the face to get the holes closer to the edge so you can get the screws in. Easy as pie and you have handles to use.

That is one of the better ideas I have seen in awhile. Redneck engineering will always prevail.

I got out into the back yard to try my new slugs.
Fed bulk, I opened the crimp, poured out the shot,
melted and cast the slug.
25 yrds, 1/4" steel plate and 5 gal bucket of sand, wet sand.
Saiga 12 19" barrel, Cobra adapter, Browning rifled choke.

Left side is the Lyman slug, the inside out ones are out of the sand.

The splatter ones are off the plate, dented the plate well.

Center are .451 ball from my cap and ball pistol.

Right is a Lee key hole off the steel.
