If it is still on the wheel weights they only want to give 10 cents around here. They would give more, I think up to 30 cents if it is melted into ingots.

25 cents on the clip. 35 if it is melted. They list it as hard lead. 52 cents for soft. This what they pay. They will not sell.

I just bought some lead today. It was sitting in a very large cardboard box and they didn't care what I took out of there for 70 cents/lb.

There were some very large ingots in there and a few of the large ingots had been cut down with a chainsaw. I'm not sure what composition the cutup ones were so I left them and just took what I knew for sure being the lead sheeting.

One of the large pieces was about 6"x6"x36" and another was about 15" x 3" x 24" so I imagine they were extremely heavy and I am not sure how I would handle them let alone try to melt them down.

I paid .43/Lb today. The scrapyard had a 275 gallon tank with the side cut out. Mostly sheetlead but they had some diving weights and other lumps and stuff. Bought 70#s for about 30 bucks.

Just picked up a quick 40 pounds of WW for 50¢/lb. No clue what they are paying for them as I always make withdrawals, never deposits!

I live in SoCal and called a scrapyard today to try to BUY lead (no deal, BTW). The guy misunderstood me and quoted me a price of $0.03/lb. And he wouldn't sell to me at any price.

Buy 10 cents, sell 20 cents. I sold enough brass to pay for half of the 200 lb of mixed pipe and sheet lead they had.

Had a buddy that had 1,200 lbs of sheet lead from an X-ray room. He said the scrap yard offered him .50 per lb. I saved him a trip to the scrap yard.
