G'Day All
Well I reckon I have finally sorted out my Lubesizer. Took a Lyman and put a Buffalo Arms constant pressure pump on it http://www.buffaloarms.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=159273&CAT=4467
And tried that.
Worked a gem but still had heating issues, so the Doctor made a 100w pid controlled heater with a 6mm element and a 4mm heat sensor. Drilled the Buffalo Arms baseplate so the heater was under the Lubesizer, then put the sensor about a inch and a half off to one side.
Works a treat.

Howdy Pard,

Your set-up is like mine now. Got my ALF from Cabin Tree-- http://www.castingstuff.com/cabinetree_loading_products.htm

with the PID and the ALF I really enjoy (as much as I can) sizing and lubing. Still not my favorite job but much better with these two additions,

I have mine set at 43*C (doesn't have a F scale) and it's fine but we're talking my lube in the Texas summer. Runs just under 100*F here along the Gulf Coast.

By the time the 450 needs to be refilled I'm pretty much done for that session.

Sounds like you've used it now then. Glad it is working as planned.

If for whatever reason that 100W element (which is huge for what you want but was as low as I could get) is too much let me know and we'll cut the wattage back. There are a few options for reducing the wattage but given it's under digital temp control I don't think too much power will be an issue. It's only really if you find it over shooting constantly because the heat being deposited into the plate is happening too quick.

The fact the base plate is pretty heavy means it's a good heavy heat sink which should buffer any issues.

Might just have to make one for myself now.

The Doctor.
