View Full Version : Thompson Center Flints
What size flints do you use in your Thompson Center Flintlocks
It looks like they came with 1/2 wide flint white in color(looks pretty cheap)
I was going to use a 5/8 English flint
But does anyone use a 3/4
Thanks so much

Tom Fuller black English gun flint, 3/4 x 3/4" square, older large Siler, T/C, InvestArm, Lyman. $1.65 each at Track. The agate, sawn flints T/C sells are too small and will wear the frizzen unevenly.

I always make sure the flints that I make are just slightly wider by a few bits than the gun I plan to use them in. I just make sure they are not so wide as they hit the barrel, once past the frizzen.
Best wishes,
Joe
