Wondering if anybody is still using Remington #57 primers. Ran across a bunch and would like to know what to do with them.

Any help would be appreciated.

find some remington cases that they fit and use them.

I have used about 8,000 of the *57 primers in the last 5 years
In fact, I shot a two rounds of skeet with some this afternoon.

What gauges do you load for?

And what is a bunch?

I load 12 gauge for cowboy action shooting. I have 6200 of them. All my hulls use 209's though.

I had some hanging around for 5 years that I couldn't give away. Finally dropped them over the side last time I went fishing. Salt water will take care of them

Not trying to hijack your thread, but I had a couple of thousand Remington primers that I bought in the early 70s. I used a few packets of 100 (there were both large and small rifle primers). They then went into hiding and I found them in the late 90s. I opened them up and they actually had small spider webs throughout the trays. I was curious and used a few and they worked fine. I think I used the last of them in about 2004, lol. One of my very anal friends dropped in one day when I was reloading and caught me dusting the spider webs off, he freaked out, but my old 223 SAKO gobbled them up.

If kept dry and stable primers will last a long time....

More good luck than good management on my part.

Save the 57* primers; any old 16 gauge RP hulls take them. I have a bunch of hulls; want to sell some?

I know it's been over 4 years since you posted the Remington 57* primer question but do you still have them? I'd like to buy them if so.

I think I have about 900 of them. I use them as caps in a SxS shotgun for working with the dog's. Take an MTY hull and drill out the primer pocket to 1/4" and they drop in and out! of course I also have a blank gun so don't use the primer's much any more. Come get them and they are your's!
