Does anyone recognize the mold that cast this 44 caliber plain base boolit?

I've got a few hundred in a trade and would like to buy a mold that casts the same boolit.

This particular one measures as follows...

Plain base diameter = 0.437
Middle band diameter = 0.4315
Top or front band diameter = 0.435
Length base to nose = 0.776
Grease groove width = 0.100
Diameter of grease groove = 0.355

One of the many different examples of the Ideal (or Lyman) #429421 is a high probability. Not exactly made to Keith's specs, the front band is too short, but that feature fluctuated as some of the "original" Keith designs didn't chamber in all guns.

Here are some pics of an Ideal 429421HP I have, they were experimenting with the rounded grease groove as far back as when Ideal was in business. http://castboolits.gunloads.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=15677&d=1252272569 http://castboolits.gunloads.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=15701&d=1252306757

Send one to Tom at accurate molds and he should be able to make it .Marvin

gerry will probably come by and show a picture with about 7 different examples of that same boolit.
i have two versions of it.
luckily the only difference is a rounded and a square lube groove.
but i'd definatly call that a version of the 429421.
rcbs does a version also called the 44-250-kt.

Ballisticast (a forum sponsor) also has mold #1103, which is the design as Sir Elmer created it.

Good info... I just bought an RCBS-44-250KT from Lefty SRH here on our site.

I just bought the same mold as well. Last night I cast up a few hundred and am greatly looking forward to loading them up and shooting them in honor of Elmer Keith. He would be proud of my boolits:bigsmyl2:
