Yes, I had fallen for a cheap solution offered by Forster for pulling bullets and now I have a broken puller base that is an eye sore. No wonder they don't sell them anymore. What good use can it be put to?

This minus bullet and petals. And I was sure they stopped selling them, but they actually still are.
Stay away from this puller as it breaks very easily and can't pull apart crimped military ammo.
I ended up buying a Hornady puller and it worked just fine.

Shame, it's a great idea. Wonder if one of our guy's has made one.

My experience has been different than yours. As part of a military rifle team I have used the Forster puller to pull at least 12K of 7.62 and 8K of 5.56 without a failure. Very fast for pulling GI ball to make Mexican match. When I purchased them I got two each thinking they would wear out. Both are still working as advertised so I have not touched the second set.

Crimped military ammo should be seated a few thousandths deeper before pulling. Works for me.

It broke on me when I was raising another bullet into the petals. It was like, 5th or 6th bullet.

Keep in mind there is a sealant, not just a crimp, this is exactly what you should do, seating them deeper breaks the seal.

Call Forster or send it back. It sounds like a bad heat treat.

Agreed that’s what you should do but mine have withstood years of not break the sealant before pulling.

Now when I am shooting LC match 3006 or M118 308 I get best accuracy when I seat the bullets back .002” or 003” to break the sealant.

Not really looking for help from Forster, just for ideas what the base can be used for.
