Finally found something that is sufficent for dealing with rogue hamsters. Its a del-ton .300 whisper upper on a superior arms lower that I built. I was still half asleep when my neighbor snapped that picture.

I bought a Model 1 Sales 300Fireball flattop upper and am extremely satisfied, I used a Bushmaster lower with a 6 position stock and have a red/green dot sight on it. With 150gr'ers and 18grs of AA1680 it was consistently grouping 3 rounds touching at 50 yards and 5 rounds @ 100 were within the 1 1/4" range. I was warned Model 1 Sales equipment was inconsistent so I must have got lucky. Recoil is nearly zero and its a light handy carbine with "keeper" on the hard case I store it in.

Very nice. What kind of cheese do you use for lube? That orange rat seems to approve :)

I don't have any problem with rats of any colour here because of a Terrier named 'Belle'.

Wouldn't mind owning a .300 Whisper.

Shoots everything from 115 to 221gr REAL quite subsonic. Has a .303 British barrel cut to 18 inches.

Dan, I can tell you were more then half asleep!!! You are letting the little guy adjust your scope so you can't hit them---sneaky little things!
That sounds---er----doesn't sound like a fun gun, I want one too.

i like that .32-20 with a can. Michigan is him-hawin' about legalizing them, i they do I want to get suppressor. Problem I'm having with the rifle right now is that the boolits can't be seated out very far because of the chamber, I'm not sure if its the throat thats causing the problem.

Gee Dan, do you sleep with that gun? Looks like you should be able to sleep safe and secure. Dale

Sleepy, helloooo.

I'd say you was having a party and the Hampster butted in.

To be on the safe side, a 416 Rigby would be a better choice to take down that varmint...they can really bite, I know from experience.

Nice rifle and good work you did on it.

We have a 17 year old red tailed boa constricter that eats two of those guys each month. Petco charges $9.99 a piece. I wish I could get him to go for a big mac.

Reminds me of the time when I was a kid. We had a guinea pig and it always went under desks and things. We always thought it was sleeping or something. Then one day my mother moved the furniture to find out that the little bugger had eaten all of the rug under everything. That was the time for a snake!

no, the .300 whisper is not a mini belted magnum, I'm thinking the gun fired out of battery. The way the case was oriented in the chamber, the blown out part was aligned with the extractor. The load was 8grs of blue dot, well within reasonable load limits. I'm putting the project on the shelf until after the wedding is over, probably shouldn't have been tinkering anyhow considering how crazy life is right now.
