I married the love of my live, she is still special to me. She was with me for 16 years while I was on active duty with the Navy, no easy task for sure. Great wife and a super mother/grandmother.

Congrats to you and your wife!!
My wife and I have been together 54 years, 25 of it in the Military.
It takes a very special woman to do what they do while we are off doing what Uncle Sugar wants.
Give her a big hug from another Navy Vet.

Congratulations!!! Happy anniversary to you and your wife.

When my Grandparents had their 65'th wedding anniversary, the paper came out and did an interview. The reporter asked my grandmother if she ever thought about divorce.
"Divorce? Never....... Murder? All the time."
They didn't put that in the paper.

Congrats, it is rare for a marriage to last that long in today's society. Now is a good time to plan and financially prepare for that really special celebration next year (maybe a honeymoon suite overlooking the Niagra Falls?)

I can't recommend Niagara Falls. A couple of weeks ago, my wife of 46 years and I decided on the spur of the moment to go back to the places we visited on our honeymoon. We went to Stratford, Ontario for a Shakespeare play, on to Toronto and then to Niagara Falls. The drive to Niagara Falls fell on the weekend of Canada Day(I had forgotten about that). I think everyone in Ontario got into their car and drove somewhere. After 2 hours in traffic, we pulled out and went a different route into the city, ate lunch and crossed the bridge into New York. Saw all I wanted of the falls from the bridge. After that experience, we drove long hours back to Tennessee to avoid July 4th traffic.

For whatever reason, I don't remember any of those problems 46 years ago.

Congratulations on 49! If we make it to 50 years, we won't be traveling. My nerves won't take the traffic any longer.

Thanks first for all the good wishes! Elaine enjoyed reading this.
We had planned on a 28 day cruise out of San Diego returning to San Diego in 2013 for our 50th but as luck would have it, the prices between Nov 2012 and April 2013 is 2013 has a $2000 a person increase so looks like in Nov we are cruising to Bora Bora via Hawaii, Christmas Islands and a couple of other stops, we have been saving for this quite a while was hard for me to commit to 28 days but I'll have a good roommate along!!

Congratulations on your marital longevity! As other have noted, that's a pretty good run in our society now. Linda and I trail you by 10 years, it will be 39 for us in December.

Congrats sir.....my bride and I celebrated 35 years last May. I was a Fleet Sailor and we met on a blind date.......decided to get married a week later......waited a year and married the day after I got out. Best decision I ever made.....

I just went to look at the year. It was 03-14-1964, and I didn't even realize that made next year our 50 th. Where did all that time go? I can still close my eyes and see the thin golden haired beauty that stood beside me. We were both scared to death. If we had only known how right we were.
My parents made 68 happy years together, before Dads passing at 87. Mom enjoyed living to 92. My 4 Grand parents made it for 71 and 79 years together.
I've still got a lot to live up to.

Congratulations, Sir & Madam. I was fortunate to have my HS Sweetheart with me for 55 years, 19 of them in USAF, before she advanced to a higher plane. We are fortunate folks.
