How often do you completely empty your electric pot and clean it?

Whenever their alloys are changed. As long as the same alloy is being used, I find there is no need to drain and clean them.

This is how I cured my drip o matic. The lever is attached with a self tapping screw from Lee. Take it off. With a small amount of molten lead in the pot adjust the rod so that it wont drip. Screw it back into the sheet metal at that point. I'm sure this goes without saying but, unplug it first!

One more thing. Empty the pot completely. Pull the rod and make sure the there isnt dross or some foreign material causing the rod to not completely be flush with the nozzle.

I turn the rod with a screwdriver with slight downward pressure evey time it drips. Drained and cleaned it once last year.
