I have found a marlin 30-30. Owner says it is the 30AS model. I beleive the barrel is micro gooved. He is asking 375 with out the scope and 450 with a bushnel 3-9 scope. Pics show some stock wear. The rifle is in a neighboring town 5 miles away. I have not looked at the rifle as of yet just wondering if it worth what he is asking if it functions as good as claimed. Also need some input if the micro groove barrel will shoot cast.

Microgroove barrels shoot cast just fine. Mine isn't an issue at all.

As for price, that's something only you can decide. I paid 300 for mine used but that was 4 years ago or so. I got the one I did partially because it was drilled on the side for a receiver sight.

Dunno about anyone else, but my 336RC from 1958 has Micro-Groove rifling, and it fires hard cast 158gr at .358 just fine...

No leading whatsoever...

That is a tad on the high side, but not crazily so. I'd offer 325 and let him keep the scope, or maybe 400 with if you think you need one.
