I don't know exactly where is the right place to ask this question, but I was wondering if there is a service out there that I can send several thousand .223 brass to, that will clean, trim and prime them for a fee. Depending on the price of such a service, it might very well be worth it for me, as I have other things to burn my time on.
Thanks!

For the most part I have seen a few (but darn few) offer that service with 1 major exception THE PRIMERS. Those if done to proper procedure require an ORMD sticker that takes more effort for the person doing it. If the primers in your case were omitted, you might stand a better chance at it. Without primers shipping can be done more than 1 way, with primers a person is kinda limited.

Depending on the price of such a service Shipping back and forth will be a big part of the price. What are you looking to spend?

Primed cases do not require an ORMD. Only small arms ammo.

This is my understanding, because I can buy primed brass and shotshell hulls from my suppliers without a haz-mat fee attached to the shipment. Usually I would just buy primed brass, but I happen to have over 30,000 once fired 5.56 brass, so obviously, if I can have it primed and cleaned for less than I can buy new brass for then it makes sense to do so.

Did a google search, seems Jeff Bartlett might be the one to go to. I've no experience with him, just gets good reviews on the CMP forum.:coffee:

Parrott1969 on here offers it at a very reasonable price. He has a thread in the vendors forum.

ORMD has nothing to do with hazmat. Any primed brass, loaded or not cannot be sent USPS, but can be sent UPS, FEDEX, or other common carrier and they require the ORMD for ground shipping. Primers sent by themselves need to be shipped with hazmat endorsement. Look it up.

Well, you learn something new every day! I looked it up. I guess it means "hazardous but not as hazardous? I guess it means that as long as its butt never leaves the ground, no Haz-Mat fee?
Sorry, I thought they were the one and the same.
The article I read on Wikipedia, seemed to be saying that you can take a marker and mark the package ORMD and draw a box around it and that is satisfactory.

i tried a guy i think is in tx. he sizes, swages primer pocket, trims and cleans.
i thought he didn't swage enough because i had a heck of a time priming and there were cases dented from too much lube and some seemed to be more sized than others. while it did save me some time in the end i thought i wouldn't do it again. i'll get the dillon trimmer for my 650xl and just size and trim first, swage pockets and then give them an acetone back to degunk.

What are you looking to spend? The reason I was asking is that I have an autodrive 1050 with a dillon trimmer that spits out cases ready to go but no primers.
