Lee bool it sizing die as a neck sizing die?

I read about neck sizing .444 malin brass on this forum and think it is a good idea . I was thinking that a .454 lee bullet sizing die might just do the trick on that . Has anyone tried this ? Can anyone tell me that it won't work ? I think this will work , but it certainly won't be the first time I was wrong :mrgreen:

It could work, as long as you get the right amount of springback to provide boolit tension.

I have tried using a Lee .311 die to resize .32 Long Colt brass. It worked okay for a trial, not sure I would want to load hundreds of rounds at a time that way.

You'll need to devise a stop of some sort to get the same length sizing every time. With only two or three threads of the sizing die caught in the press, it will still be too close to the mouth of the brass and, if you're not careful, you could drastically 'over length' size the case.
