My buddy just switched to a 140gr mihec design bullet and he loves it. Says it's about like shooting a 22.

When I shoot a 9mm in IDPA it's a 124 grain either RNL or TCL. For my favored powders, 124 grain is my personal sweet spot when it comes to reaching power floor minimum. Obviously YMMV and choice of division may have a bearing.

I have a 4 cavity 358-242 122 grain Lyman mold that gets used for this sort of thing. (Not a misprint--the new ones are 356-242's, mine is an older mold that casts right at .3585 which seems to work great in all three of my 9 mms.

Most guys are shooting 147gr w faster powder charges for softer shooting minor loads that still function the gun w/o spring changes.
