I did a little testing with my mosin Nagant 91/30 *I was working up a load with the lee 311-155-2r and win 571 powder , *Win 571 powder may seem like an odd choice but I was given 3 pounds of it*

The load data
Privi Partisan brass
Fed 210 primers
Win 571 powder
Lee *155 , *8bhn *GC * .313 as cast run through a .314 lee sizer to seat the gas check
1" cube of Dacron filler*

I started with 9 gr and tested up to 17gr*

None of these loads showed any sign of excessive pressure

All grous were shot at 40 yards

* * * * * * * 1714 *fps
* * * * * * * 1727 fps
* * * * * * * 1713 fps
1694 fps

Looks like the 14 gr load is my new plinking load , the 9 gr load was my limbo load with this bool it *accuracy fell off at 8 gr ,*
I tested the 9 gr load against a .22 *on a couple *plastic 500 ml drink bottles filled with water , very similar results so this load should pass through a grouse without to much meat damage ,*

I also tested some full power * paper patched lee 200 gr bool it's , Chrono readings were good with an extreme spread of 21fps but they patterned like a fine English shotgun , so I have some more work to do with them [smilie=l:

I also shot some factory ammo for comparison the seller bollet 180 gr soft points went into 1.75" . The MFS 185 gr fmj' did about the same and the Russian surplus light ball was the surprise of the day when it put 5 into an 1.25 " group , so my plinkers are better than the factory other than the cheap surplus ..... Go figure
