Pulled the first round off at 8:00 A.M. on the 4th. Temp 83 degrees. Shot 223,308,7.5x55, 7.62x54, and 38S. Shot about 100 rds, and left the range at 10:00 a.m. temp 92 degrees. Not real bad at low 80's, but above 90, the temps just drain the fun out of shooting.

Shot the cannon last night at 9PM and it was still 95 degrees here. It's 98 now headed to a projected high of 102.

Better hurry up and get things done, before it gets hot!

Shot a Win 1885 and a Savage bolt action this AM. Temp was 56 at 8AM start of shoot and 64 at 10AM pack up and go.
It was overcast and misty -- great weather in my view. Drat, now (12:52) it is up to 74 and the sun is out.

Have not even thought about going to the range in the last couple weeks.
It is a 1 hour drive and neither my house or car have A/C so do not want to overheat myself.
At the moment the thermometer reads 102 and rising. No relief in sight.
Stay as cool as you can. Winter is coming. :D
Not sure how hot it was when the kids and I were at the range today. I figure nothing says independence like 230gr of lead leaving the business end of a 1911. Unless it is a 13 year old girl killing waterfilled bottles with an AR15.

went fishing instead of shooting on the 4th , such a relief to get out about 3 miles on lake Michigan and finally get some relief form the heat that was at 4am by 10 it was hot out 5 miles , or so i thought it was like driving back into a furnace as we made it to a mile of shore.
west wind , makes for smooth water but so hot
we did get some nice fish

the barrel of my 12 gauge was too hot to touch before I even fired the first shot. broke about 20 clays and then went to the lake...
