Went for a ride in the Jeep, brought along the 454, on a new trail, found a great place to take a break and send some lead down range. Only fired about 24 rounds, and at the end of the session, the barrel was still nice and shiny. The TAC#1 lube on my bullets, and the LBT Blue on bullets a friend sent me worked like a champ, the accuracy with my bullets (45-270SAA, 289gr, @ 1200 fps) was stellar, first 4 shots cut a 1 inch hole at 25 yards. The 315gr RCBS GCSWC turned in a 2 1/2" group, the LBT GCSWC turned in a bit bigger groups, but I think that was due to the increased recoil. Still re-acquainting myself with the recoil at the top end of the 454 spectrum. It was a good afternoon.
