Just got the last stuff for this in yesterday, got it assembled this morning.
Ruger 1022T, stainless. Bolt was squared, tapered and smoothed, inside receiver was polished, changed the buffer, changed the bolt handle to a stainless cylinder, ground the bolt hold open for auto release, lightened the trigger (polish and springs) Leupold QRW stainless rings and Mueller APV 40mm scope. It's going to the range this afternoon to see if it is a keeper. At some point in the near future, it will get a Richard's Apache Gold stock in the "tac driver" series.

50 yards, 25 rounds, Federal AutoMatch Target, 40gr solid.
I used the Ruger factory box mag and 2 Ruger BX-25 magazines. All magazines performed well.
Admittedly, this was the best round for the day as I ran Federal bulk, Remington Bulk, CCI MM, and a box of Remington Viper. This was all I could round up in the Austin area where I live. The Federal Automatch came from Wally World, and shot the best. 3 failures to feed with Federal bulk, 4 failure to fire with Remington Bulk, 2 failure to extract with Remington Viper. No failures of any kind with the Federal Automatch, surprizing as it was far from being the most expensive of the batch, only $13.70 for a bulk pack of 325 rounds. After I got it home and starter to clean it, I decided to go ahaed and drill the back of the receiver for a cleaning rod. Bye-Bye Warranty.....

to bad about that one flyer
Yea, I started to tape it up, but figured, eh, what the heck, it is what it is. I think it was a bouncing 45 case from my wife's 45 in the lane next to me that made me flinch. She tore the center out of her target with her Kimber 45 3" carry gun. A buddy at the range made fun of me for shooting my 22 rifle while my wife dispensed with a couple of hundred rounds of 45ACP. I sure do love that woman, and after 40 years, I've decided to keep her.

My wife is usually the one pestering me to take her to the range. If I let her have her way, we would be going twice a week. Which is fine, except I am the one that has to keep up with ammo production so she will have something to shoot!
