I have been getting lead flashing from roofers that I deal with. is there a specific amount to add to wheel weights or should I just alloy the lead with lino?

Don't even know if that makes sense as I'm kinda new to this stuff.

Thanks,
Saguaro

I like 75% clip-on wheel weights with 25% pure lead and a smidgin of tin. ( about 1% ) More will not hurt but tin is very expensive.

Note, that must be clip ons. stick ons are pretty much pure lead.

Clip-on wheelweights and the lead from roofers is your best bet. Alloying with Linotype is a bit trickier and can sometimes hit you with a lot of inconsistencies you may not be ready for.

I"ve been using 50% ww's and 50% pure lead with a touch of tin in my 38's with good results. These loads are around 750 ft/sec. My 45 LC bullets are made from pure WW's with a touch of tin at the same velocity as my 38's. Lino is scarce up here, so I have very little experience using it. All will depend on what you are shooting them in and how fast you are pushing them.

I use 55% lead with 45% wheel weights plus 2% tin air cooled and aged 3-4 weeks for all of my rifle loads using FWFL {Felix world famous lube} at 2000 plus fps.

For anything below about 900 fps, I go with the 50/50 WW's & Pb. In the 9mm, for expmple, I go with straight WW's. That's just my deal. enjoy Mike
