What heat source are you using for your melting pot?

Any help appreciated.

My father was a plumber for about 40 years. I have his old propane fired plumber's furnace and a cast iron plumber's pot.

I'm guessing you mean a smelting pot when reducing ww's to ingots, I use a home made propane burner.

Propane fish frier and a cast iron pot made in Taiwan. Couldn't bring myself to melt lead in any of my USofA cast iron.

Casting Bullets:
* 20# Cast Iron Pot & Ladle - vintage 1950's gas stove that puts out 50,000 BTU's
* 20# Electric Pot plugged into electric outlet

OK, what's the point of this thread?

I'm using a reenforced turkey fryer with a custom self made bottom pour smelting pot & lid. Not much money invested, but super efficient.
