Hello all I was hoping that some of you could help me out. Not long ago I placed an order with Dry Creek Bullet Works for some of his excellent 230gr .411" Keith bullets. I'm looking for a load that will get me close to 1100fps from my 4 5/8" Ruger BH. I can't find any data however for this bullet, so I was thinking of sticking with 8.5gr of Unique as it offers very good results with 210gr boolits. Does this load sound about right?

I used 12.5 of old Hercules Blue Dot in a 61/2 M57 1100fps plus newer Alliant BlueDot is little faster

I think your 8.5 grs of Unique will work just fine, I shoot a lot of 8 grs of Unique with that exact same bullet from an old Saeco mould & it works great. I also shoot 9.2 grs of Unique with a 250 gr LBT & it also is a great load, I've taken deer & elk with both.

10 grs. of HS 6 works well also. I really like this powder for mid range loads. Unlike some loads with Unique, I have never had any leading problems with HS-6.

My two loads (so far) have been for 220 grain Keith @ 15.7 grains of 2400 and, 14.2 grains of 2400 for more controllable target loads.

I found 2400 adds up slowly. 15.7 grains was getting me 1315 fps.

I used the Lyman 215 grain gas checked bullet with 15.5 grains of 2400.

Good Luck,
Ron
