The dingle dangles told me about it at Knob Creek. They said it had the oddest kernels you ever saw. They said they came in one pound containers which they had to transfer to 8lbers. Problem is one of the guys said "maybe $5 / lb. Well.

They said the bullseye is really bullseye

Why did they have to transfer it to 8lb jugs and what did he mean by maybe $5/lb.

At $45 for 5# they're not going to sell much of it - why not buy the real thing for 20% more at Powder Valley?

He didn't know what they were going to charge. He thought probably around $5/lb. I also don't understand why they are selling it at 5lbs per jug.

I forgot to ask how much if they sent them to me in one pound jugs getting sidetracked with 86o duplexing stories.

I was pretty discouraged at their price since it's not better than the price for Promo (red dot) powder which we shoot in cowboy loads.

Is there someplace you can get Promo or Red Dot at a good price?

I find that with alot of surplus. 842 abd 846 are good examples there a hundred bucks a keg now and you can buy real h335 for about 15 bucks more.

The laws of supply and demand will take care of those high surplus powder prices. They're too close to the price of new powder, nobody will buy it and they'll come down to a reasonable level. I know I wouldn't buy if it's within 15% or less of the cost of new powder. It's got to be low enough to make the risk assumed for buying used non-cannister powder worth it.

Dave

..............At $45 for 5lbs, I'd say that was pretty dang good. If you are desperate and walk into a local gunshop here, you'll play from $18 to $22 a pound for powder. Two years ago when I went to '-05 NCBS, at the Ace hardware they had Bullseye on the shelf at $13.59 a pound and W748 for like $16. I got 3 x BE and a pound of 748. So $10/lb sounds mighty fine to me :-)

While $100 for 8 lbs of WC844 or WC846 isn't what we're used to, it STILL is only $12.50/lb. It's utility isn't diminished just because it's surplus. Maybe if you just HAD to have the very last FPE or fps you'd go canister and pay the difference. Now I would not pay that for say WC860 or 5010 or 5020 unless I had a 30-378 or similar that did it's utmost with it. Well, maybe if I had a 50 BMG or a 20mm cannon I also might 8-).

Promo looks pretty good for medium 44s and 45s and the price is great. It sounds like the flakes are smaller and might meter better?
