I went to the lease on Friday and got this one around midnight. I used a 130 grain Sierra. I finished off with a 270 gr cast boolit from my 44.

Nice - interesting looking setup on the rifle, can you tell us about all the bolt on's

Are you happy with the 300? I keep thinking about building one for boolits only.

The scope is a Bushnell Yardage Pro laser range finding scope, 3x12.
To the left of the scope is a Laser Genetics ND3 laser designator.
Attached to the barrel on the left side is a UTG 265 lumen flashlight.
On the right side is a 5 mw green laser.

I love the 300 BLK but to be honest I couldnt get it to cycle with cast boolits. You may be able to. I suspect my gas port is too small.

How do you like that ND3 laser designator? I have looked at those and the cost is much more than a torch so I need a good justification for the purchase to keep the wife happy.

I love shooting boolits in the two 300's my son and I have. Neither have ever seen jacketed.

I really like the ND3. It made me a lot more successful night hunting. I have no concerns about taking a 200 yard shot at night.

If you hunt a lot in the dark it is easily justifiable. It rarely spooks a pig or coyote.

I have read of many people using cast in their 300's. I can't get mine to cycle with lead or reliably with a bullet of 150 gr or higher. The next step is to look at the size of the gas port. I'm a little skidish about drilling on a barrel.

Thanks CD. I would look into that port size. My 300 cycles fine with cast 120's,155's, and 230's with a 16' barrel and a carbine positioned .110 gas port. Even cycles subs without a can. I am using a H2 car buffer in it so it may cycle different with your rifle length buffer set up. I rarely use jacketed, but the hornady 110 v-max are fun to annihilate stuff with.

They also make a subzero one for cold weather.
