Been looking at this one for a while and finally bit the bullet.
Only NIB that i hav seen for a while now.
Cylinder throats are good .358minus gage will go snugly but .3585minus will not.Same for all 6 believe it or not.Have not sluged the barrel but will.

Started working up max load with 160gr LBTFN and 296.
I already prefer it over my 6in stainless full lug gun.

I have one also. They quit making that model back in the 90's didn't they?

Not sure.I think they may have made a limited run at some point.I was suprized to find this one being NIB. Maybe some one who knows more about them will chime in.

Nice looking GP. I prefer them in blued carbon steel with short shrouds. Mine is a 4" blued, fixed-sight model with short shroud. I believe it is a RCMP turn-in.

Lately a few sellers have new blued 4" long-shroud GP100s in .38 Special for about $400. It's tempting. I wouldn't mind having one in .38 only; I think of it as a modern .38/44 Outdoorsman.

My mom has an ss version in .357 my dad bought in 92ish. She "confiscated" it from my dad. We have killed many deer with it.
They are great guns.

I've never seen a .38 Special-only GP100, but, as Tracy stated above, that would be like a modern .38/44 and would be a great candidate for Skeeter's old load of 2400 powder under the Lyman/Thompson 358156GC bullet in .38 Special brass. I use 13.5 grains nowadays and it is both accurate and deadly. Nice GP PacMan!

I found a nice half lug blued 6" GP100 a couple of years ago. I normally prefer stainless, but I do like this gun. As near as I can measure the throats with my digital internal mic, they are .3578". It shoots very nicely.

Nice... I wish Ruger still offered the half lug barrel.

Great pistol. I have one also. Mines about 10 years old. Full Lug barrel. The biggest issue I have with mine is trying to pry it out of my daughters hands. But thats a good problem. She shoots it quite well too, normally getting 4 touching at 10-12 yards, with the lee 140swc over 4.7g of hp38 and cci primers.

That half-lug just looks classic. Makes it look just like its predecessor, the Security-Six. Probably balances about as well, too.
