I got some Cerro Safe from a member and need to get on with doing four or five chamber casts.
Are there any tricks I should know ahead of time?
I did it about a hunrd years ago but don't remember much about it and thought that rather than doing as I usually do and simply blundering into it, since there is so much experience here, maybe I should ask about it.

Melt it in a non-waxed paper cup with a hair dryer. It sticks to glass and makes a
mess. Put your patch a ways down the bbl and you can examine the throat too.

Don't leave it too long before removing! Lightly oil everything it will touch.

Thanks Bill
Do you know if it will stick to a plastic funnel?

It helps if you preheat the chamber slightly.

It will melt a plastic funnel.

I usually just use my cheapo fluxing lathe to pour it in. If you're careful, no problems. Just be sure to thoroughly clean the chamber before pouring.
