I have a 32 colt revolver that takes a heeled boolit. These boolits are similar to gas checked boolits. I thought that you GC guys might know of a way to put a groove on a plain based bullet. Can you help me?

Try Bernie at www.oldwestbulletmoulds.com for a 32 Colt mould. Also makes 38, 41 and 44 that I know of in heel types, maybe more.

Hello. olafhardt. I have thought of this for years..but have never tried it. It does probably require some metal working machines. You could make up a plate that is screwed to top of each mould block..flat heads would keep it aligned. Once fitted, the mould would be clamped in Bridgeport vise, plates removed, & cavity indicated. Plates replaced & desired hole dia. (Heel) drilled, and/or bored to size. Might get away with having clearance hole for existing stop pin..otherwise, a new longer pin would need to be fitted. Alot of work..but would probably work ok.

In my .32 Colt reloading adventure I found that by pushing the bullet base first into a .302" sizing die a short distance did a great job.

I have read where someone used a collet to squeeze the base of the bullet to fit into the .32 Colt case.

Recently, I had Accurate make a mold for the .32 Colt. I specified a heel diameter of .305" because I find that it fits snuggly into a fired case from my 1892 Marlin.
