Anyone know where I can get a replacement spring for a Ruger 77MKII in 6.5x55 to reduce the trigger pull?
Amazing what you can find with google :
http://www.midwayusa.com/product/368006/ruger-trigger-adjustment-spring-ruger-m77-mark-ii-target
Or
Wolff Ruger M77/Mark II Rifle Tune-Up Pak
Item # W30376
$15.95
A spring alone may not be what you're looking for. If you could replace the spring only why would people buy the $80 replacement triggers ?

I went to the auto parts store and dug through the spring draw and got a few different ones to try.

all you have to do is cut a coil or two off the spring you have. if you take too much, stretch the spring. you want to be able to slam the bolt shut, on an empty chamber, and it won't go off

I installed one for a friend of my Dad. He bought it online, I think from Brownell's, improved
it a good bit.

I use a section of spring from a ball-point pen for a light pull.
Save the original spring for when you sell the rifle.

I have a spring asst kit and pulled a spring out of there. Cutting off a few coils really isn't what you want to do, you want a spring made from a smaller dia wire.
What most rugers need is for you to carefully polish the sear surfaces, side of the trigger and sear, pins they rotate on and the sides of the casting where they are fit into the action. Slicking everything up makes a big difference in reducing the factory heavy gritty pull, but a lighter spring is typically required to get the weight where you really want it.
