I am in need of a bullet for a muzzleloader, 50 cal. and weighing from 500 to 550 grs. I need it to check in my Kodiak double rifle with the hope that the additional weight will end the crossing of the barrels. I'm so close with my 450 gr. bullet I really believe I can get there with the heavier bullet, if the 1-48 twist will stabilize the longer bullet. Does anyone have a mold or know of a source for such a bullet? It would need to be cast of straight lead or very, very lightly alloyed. Any suggestions appreciated.

The RCBS North south skirmish bullet would get there. I have one my self. Here is a thread you might find interesting. Ron

Thank you Ron. That's close, for certain!!!! It appears Andy's mold threw a bullet big enough. I have a .505 sizing die coming and expected to have to size something down. A tapered bullet would be the berries with the base band at .496-.497. Do you know anyone who has a mold throwing a .510 or thereabouts bullet who might sell me a dozen or so of 500 and 540-550?
