took my like 10mins to cut, shape and my first try to mount (I don't get it right the first time).
made this for my mossberg 715t. I need just that height of cheek rest to like up with my scope.

How thick is that? It looks good and easy... both good things. I need to get some height on my Lee Enfield stock to get up to the scope but do not want to alter the gun permanently.

This looks like a great idea.

about .332 but i could not get to the died center. changed from a glue to velcro so it adds a little more. may be a half inch left.

may do one from my nagant.

I need more height than that. Lee Enfields have funny stocks to begin with and adding a scope really makes it need comb height.

I was thinking of using a part piece of PVC pipe filled with urethane or something to form to the stock then cover with leather like the commercial strap on cheek rests but higher. Meaning I would make something that formed to the stock but wasn't part of the stock then strap it down if that makes sense.

Anyway, I will come up with something but you have given me some more ideas so I will look for some stick down foam too. You never know what you might find!

you might be able to find some half round rubber molding pieces. little bit of foam. place a piece of foam on top of the rubber for cushioning.

I used some crutch pads to raise mine. Sponge rubber. A pair cost just 3 or 4 dollars, cut the solid ends off, then was left with u-shaped pieces. Cut the length I wanted, stacked up however many I needed, and duct-taped them in place to try them out temporarily. Quick, easy, cheap, nice padding.

Trial use, I used Pipe insulation - wood for finished product.

That photo looks familiar Artful ~ you have posted that before I am sure. I may even have asked about it.

Yes, I used foam pipe insulation over the stock to try but still need more height. I was thinking of using bent thin sheet metal ("U" shaped) filled with urethane foam to form to the stock then cover with leather and lace on.

How did you attach yours?

Hmmmm, I guess wood could be used then attached with double sided foam tape. That should be solid enough yet could easily be removed and minor stock refinishing done to the original wood (not pristine anyway).

Still talking about it but not done it yet!

here's the one I made for my nagant.
piece of leather I picked up on amazon for $13 shipped (still have 2ft left)
a trimmed down piece of that rubber bumper stuff I used on my mossberg
cut a piece of an stretchable book cover.
velcro strap.

well, done (sorta)

What about using Velcro strip or some other hook and look fastener instead of tape?
