Does anyone have a picture of a scope mount on a Springfield model 84C ? I see two plug screws on the left side of the action and I'm only guessing they are for a scope mount .

Thanks , Jack

If your Model 84-C has only two plugged holes, methinks there used to be an old Weaver #2 side mount bracket mounter there, via only using two of the multiple base screw/holes (because it was "only a .22").

The bases take the bracket-type ringsets, but hold the scope over the bore.

FWIW, One of the least expensive & most reliable online optics/mount dealer I've dealt with is: www.swfa.com

Yep , my rifle only has two holes on the side of the reciever and yes it is only a .22 . I have been doing some searching and it seems that three quarter inch scopes are whats expected to be installed on them . After all these years of being spoiled with one inch rings a Simmons 4x15 would be very hard to get used to .

I'll go look at that link and see what they got .

Thanks Jon and pietro too ! Weaver sure made a lot of mounts but it's good to see their computer skills are on par with mine . I went to their charts section looking in the Savage/Stevens/Springfield area and they still seem to think that Springfield mean 1903 ! Bless their heart they think that much of the military bolt rifle . And like I'd tell 'em if'n I was talking to 'em "So howzat fit a 84C agin???" .

On slow days I can practice my google-fu with that in mind .

Ya know , now that I get to thinking about it , I have a mount that looks like that B4/N2 mount . It was on a Remington 510 .

Gun parts (numrich) had in their catalog a side mount for a 3/4" scope. I don't think it was a weaver design.

I finally found the scope mount out in the garage . When pietro showed the picture I thought it looked familiar . I remember buying this mount for a Remington 510 about forty years ago . Rifle got sold to little brother who didn't want mount , left it at Dad's house where I recently found it and brought it home .

I took it to the dungeon with me and held it against the side of the Springfield and it looks to me like it will fit [smilie=l: Who woulda thunk it huh?? Crazy thing is , I have an old three quarter inch scope marked JC Higgins I think was made by Weaver :-PI just wonder if it'd be worth having someone clean and gas the tube now .
