In researching accurate Keith type molds for .44 special/magnum I came across the Hensly & Gibs mold #503 which was supposedly Keith's favorite mold. Anybody know if its still available somewhere or interested in bringing it back?

Ballisti-cast offers most of the H&G designs. Just add 600 to the mold number. The 503 H&G is the 1103 in their list. For more info, go to the top of the page and click on their link. They are a vendor sponsor on this board..............

MiHec offers a clone to this mold that I can/will say is supperb! Its my favorite .44 mold period. This mold feeds all 3 of my .44s.

You might check the Mihec website. There have been group buys for solid aluminum 6 cavity, brass Cramer style HP in two cavity, brass solid 4 cavity and brass 4 cavity HP Cramer in this very design from Mihec.

Most recently I think was this one:

If Miha doesn't have any in stock, I believe the 429421 clone that NOE is getting ready to run is a very close copy of it. That GB is set to run in August. Both mold makers do fantastic jobs on their molds. Couldn't go wrong with either one.

Ballisti-cast, you won't go wrong. Have an original 8 cavity H&G #503 mold from 24 years ago and then several years ago bought a matched set of Ballisti-cast molds of the same design and bullets from each mold would fit in all the other molds - pretty consistant despite being manufactured many years apart.

We have the original cutters H&G used as well as use the same mold block design with the addition of hardened alignment pins. For quite a few of the bullets, I have 5+ cutters dating back to the 1930s, so if you get a mold that is a little different then an older one that would be why. The molds made with the newer cutters are generally almost identical to the older ones, but now and then H&G would make a small change to improve how the bullet dropped from the mold or the accuracy. The Keith style bullets I believe they pretty much left alone as he put a lot of time into his designs and they are about as good a bullet as you can get.
