I've been looking for a hunting boolit for a 30 30 Marlin and later a Mossberg 464 30 30. I have found one that looks real good to me it's the Accurate 31-170C. I love a wide flat nose on a cast boolit. Does any one use this boolit and how does it work on game? Thanks for reading.

That is a proven design for sure. I cast the lyman similar boolit out of 50/50 range scrap wheel weights and air cool. For me, loaded over 19 grains of 2400 in a 308 Encore super 14 barrel, they will penetrate a 180 pound or so pig with ease. Bone crushing power of the highest order, good expansion, no fragmenting. If you look back in the hunting with cast boolits section, I think I posted the pic of that hog post mortem. I will see if I can find it and at least post a link.

Ok, I found my thread. I was totally wrong on everything BUT the boolit I used. Hey, I slept and had a 'couple drinks since then!

Looks like a dandy boolit.

I’m on the list for the N.O.E. group buy 165 grain Ranch Dog copy with conventional lube groves.

Issue I have with bore riders and lever guns is I need to get a nose sizing die at .300” to run bullet noses through to qualify ones that turn out a little fat.
