Is the thickness of the alloy sheeting important?,I can get .011 and .014 thickness for checks and want to ask if anyone has done any testing to see if one thickness is better than another. The checks are going to be for .30 cal boolits,303/30/30/308. Thanks Pat

If it was me I would get both thickness. You will more than likely find that the .014 will work the best with the 30 cal boolits.
Today I was trying out some different aluminum using my FC III in 30 cal. I tried .008 lith plate and .015 roof flashing .012 aluminum "No Hunting" signs and some .016 one half inch wide soft aluminum rolls. They all worked good depending on what boolit I tried them on. The .015 and the .016 fit the tightest on all of the boolit shanks. But I had to use the Lyman gas check seater to press them on...........Terry

Critical in my experience Pat. For .303 you will need to aim for 15 thou at least. Get hold of 'Yonky' and he will supply ex 'The old country' (England). Failing that I have had GREAT results ply up 12 litho plate with 4 thou Coke can material on the inside to make 16 thou.
