Commercial Source for Combination Lead Soft Nose/Hardened Lead Base Bullets

Was intrigued some years ago by an article written by Ross Seyfried regarding the casting of bullets with soft lead noses that would expand on impact, yet still remain intact and attached to a harder alloyed cast lead base. As I recall, Seyfried indicated that the two sections of bullet were bound together to the effect that the sections could not be torn apart with pliers. A quick search led me to postings by BruceB who has made these bullets successfully. Was hoping that someone here could direct me to one of the numerous commercial bullet casting businesses that might make this type of bullet. Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

I have the Lyman molds but never used them much. I saw no real advantage since my single mold cast boolits expanded to suit me. Here's a rather dated list of bullet makers some of which are no longer in business. Obviously, not all are listed here but a web search will bring you a lot of hits for bullet makers of all sorts.

I don't know of any commercial casters who make this type of bullet.
Wouldn't sell too many and they would be expensive.
Commercial casters want maximum production in most cases, these are very slow to produce.

It isn't that hard to make them yourself.

Gentlemen:
Thank you for your prompt responses. Obviously, feasiblity and practicality of making these bullets are the limiting factors. Seemed like a good idea, but, seems like a pretty convoluted hassle, also. Great info and forum here. I will continue to read and learn.

Not a hassle at all really. Take an hour and you can make up enough for a few years hunting.
I use the same bullet cast normally formpracrice and sightin. Soft noses only get used for the actual hunt. A few soft nose rejects get fired to verify the results.

Has anyone thought of casting both halves, lubing the bottom half and then putting it in a swaging die? You could swage a heavy 35cal bullet up to 44cal.
