i do love my .475 bfr

i am not going to call this load development or any such thing, as i shot these from a bench at 100 yds resting my forearm on a bag , i shot a couple differant loads with water dropped wheel weight , to see how it does compared to the air cooled i have been shooting ...

im just not good enough to test loads at 100 .. if i ever decide to get seriouse with it i will have to move in to 50 yds .

the flyers you see and cant see , can be blamed on me and not the load
i am by no means carping as this is some darn fine shooting for me .. i am just pleased as punch

first one is 25.5 grns of 296 , 400 grn lee boolit and a cci magnum primer

next is 26 grains of 296 same boolit and cci primer ... zero leading with the wd boolts .. i was getting just a minor streak with the aircooled with this charge

Looking at your loads, they are perfect too.
Nice work. [smilie=w:

thank you sir .

one thing that is almost disapointing .
that is how easy it was to make the bfr shoot .......

Dude, awesome!!! With results like that, why would you want to do any load development?

A lot of folks really like these guns, including me. I like mine a lot.

Good shooting!

Maybe try a few with 26.5gr, just to see.

Me too. Granted it isnt a 475, but I love it all the same.

Just need to get home and get some more trigger time with her.

it is hard to believe just how good these things shoot right out of the box , it is without a doubt the best shooting revolver i have ever owned .

i think i just have to have one in .500 jrh next .

There's something really honest about a man that can admit he loves his handcannon. That's a very nice revolver. Can't say I see a thing lacking there at all.

Mine loves that 400 gr lee also.
Theres just something about a big ol pistol throwing hundreds of grains of lead each shot.

Not like the BFR in .500 JRH! A 64 count box weighs 6-1/2#!:mrgreen:
Ideal for those hunters that need pockets full of rounds! :Fire:

FYI: I just called MR today and sent off my 50 AE BFR off to get a JRH cylinder fit to it. They have had a slight price hike. $9.99 to be exact. It's now 249.99 to get one sent off for a new cylinder. I'm hoping it's worth every penny.

Apparently there's been some other changes. I called and told them I wanted a 50 JRH cylinder fit to my 50 AE BFR, the gal told me "those are two completly different products". She did transfer me to someone that knew something though. The rest was taken care of from there. The last time I called them the first person I talked to was very familiar with their products. Perhaps they are outsourcing their call center?

magnum research is owned by kahr arms ,i suspect when you called you actualy talk to someone from their call center and you was then transfered to someone from magnum research

Great news! I tracked my package that I mailed out on 061212, it arrived at MR @ 1520 on 061512. I called MR this morning @ 0900. They asked me my zip and then told me what shop it would be delivered to. At this time he told me the revolver had a 50 JRH cylinder fitted to it, had been test fired and was ready to ship! How's that for lead time?

I will more than likely pick it up on Friday. If the work they did on this is anything like I've seen in the past from them....let's just say I'm quite happy.

Well MR done a fine job on the cylinder. My old foster trimmer cutter goes right down the center of a 500 S&W casing. I will use a .50 AE trim die to file down my casings down to 1.400", the die is a special order @ midway 30 days+. Anyway you can't get in a hurry about anything good. I do already own a RCBS 50-400 SWC, Lee 440, and a 375 spire point group buy mold. Does anyone have any data on loading these for a BFR? The 375 and 440 grain are GC, the 400 is a plane base. I feel no need to load these down or pushing unsafe limits either way, I already have .45 colts and a 500 smith. Any data would be appreicated.
