Alcan Hwy washed out !

Travelers and truckers coming to Alaska via the Alcan Hwy. wont be able to get here for a while. The road washed out between Haines Junction and Destruction Bay due to heavy Rains. Alaskans may see some shortages soon since we get lots of goods by semi-trucks...

They now have the road some what open to haines junction. Some folks have made it to the ferry at haines to get out, but the highway is also washed out between watson lake and teslin, apparently in several places, so groceries will be a little late. lol

Drove the Alcan Hwy once -- 1971 on my trip from Fairbanks to Jackson, MS ....... Certainly not what it is today!!
