Hey guys. I'm really likiing the looks of the Lee 90366 mold, a gas check 150 grain flat point. According to the specs it produces a .309 diameter boolit. I figure that in reality it would be a bit larger to accomodate variations in alloy and sizing preferences. I have an old Marlin Glenfield 30, it has the micro groove style rifling but without the micro groove name. It shoots great with 150 grain jacketed slugs and I want to keep a good thing going with cast.

Anyone have experiences with this boolit in Marlins? Do they usually work, or should I just skip it and get a Ranch Dog mold?

I use both this and the 170gr version of this in my 1971 Marlin, and both shoot well, with a slight advantage going to the 170gr version in mine. However, I first tried sizing these bullets to .309" and got a sewer pipe look-alike barrel and 9" patterns at 25 yds regardless of velocity. Next attempt was same alloy, same lube, everything same except I sized to .311", and I get 1.5-2.5" groups at 100yds, and no leading at velocities ranging from 600ish fps to 2450 fps for the 150gr and 2300fps for the 170gr. I mostly use the 170gr now due to the very slightly smaller groups--1.5-2.5" for the 170gr and 1.5-3.5" for the 150gr.
