Heard from Bryan at CH4D that they are working on a new line of presses. The Champion and Rock Crusher will be no more and the verbal discription of the new presses will be the plate arrangement similiar to the RCBS and Hornady.

Wow. It will be a couple of years from now and they are in the early stages of planning.

A side note:

Is the handle on the Champion 5/8X18TPI or 9/16X18TPI? I think it's 5/8 but I'm two states away from home. I'm unusure about thread pitch.

take care,

You mean like a plate as in progressive?

They just started making the Crusher. I suppose at the price they're asking they could probably stockpile several decades worth by the time they stop production.

The Champion has been in production for quite awhile. I'd be sad to see them stop making it. I got mine though.

Like the 50 BMG presses from RCBS and Hornady. That's what I meant by plate style presses. Sorry wasn't clear.

Actually they have around 10 or the Rock Crusher presses left. I know production takes quite a while.

It is sad.

Hey what's the thread pitch and diameter on your handle? I'm two states a way and want to use the consistent crimp. They list a 5/8X18 and a 9/16X18.

thanks,

To quote Jaffe from "Dirty Harry,"..."I don't know how can I tell?"

My calipers say the threads below the nut are about 0.549".

Wonder why they would drop the lines. Seems like if they are already tooled up it would just make more sense to add another press or two.

I wonder if the new press will be swage-worthy?
